Small Claims courts (SCC) have upped the limits to as much as $50,000 across Canada, so you have lost all the litigation between say, $5000 and $50,000 that you used to handle and that paid the rent.

Alberta SCC limit is now $55,000. Ontario Small Claims Court limit was raised to $34,000 on Jan 1 2020

These are not small claims for ordinary people. That is close to a year's take home pay for half of Canada.

It shows how out of touch the courts are with the real world.

The number of new lawyers being churned out by the "no one fails" law schools is flooding the market. They are starving and will take on anything they can get at bargain rates.

We won't even mention the impact of paralegals.

LSO and no doubt other law societies are subsidizing many of these new lawyers with office expense grants and other handouts so they can compete with you. Kiss that income goodbye.
