CanLaw Lawyer Referral Service

Canada Trusts CanLaw -- Online Since 1996

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THE QUEBEC LAW SOCIETIES WILL TREAT YOU FAIRLY?

Is there any way to get these two law societies to help you with a complaint against a lawyer?

Do not count on help here.

Barreau du Québec

The Barreau du Québec may at any time tell you if a lawyer has a disciplinary history, that is to say whether s/he has violated the rules governing the profession.

Most Quebec lawyers are hard working, honest and reliable.

Unfortunately, there are bad apples who make life difficult for clients and the other lawyers.

The Law Societies do not weed these bad apples out. They protect them from consumer complaints

THE ALLEGATIONS IN THIS BIZARRE DEFAMATORY JUNE 2004 ATTACK ARE NOT TRUE.

CanLaw is proudly independent and NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH ANY LAW SOCIETY ANYWHERE.

Asking a law society to help is like asking a snake not to bite you.

We are NOT lawyers. We caution all consumers to be very careful in dealing with any Law Society since they represent lawyers only. They do not represent you the client.  CanLaw provides legal information and resources. CanLaw never provides legal advice.
